This vote has nothing to do with gender, and your comments miss the mark. She may be well educated and well respected, but she and the other board members did a terrible job, so they got fired. That's how it works in the real world. The Chief can appoint interim members to run things until the next session when more competent individuals can be installed. But if you want to truly get the Nation back on track, then vote for a new Chief. Then the budgets won't be submitted months late, we wouldn't own a mound of dirt cut in half by a utility easement, the employees wouldn't be terrorized with a gag order, the burial funds won't be raided for travel expenses, we wouldn't have wasted a million dollars on 20,000$ value strategic plan, and our main source of income would already have been on trust land. But hey, continue to blame Congress for doing their mandated job, while letting the executive branch off the hook.

Well I guess it should be no surprise that certain members of Congress are a little intimidated by a well educated, well respected Osage women with the know how and ability to operate and chair the Osage Nation Gaming Enterprise Board. Why would they want some one of that caliber looking after the Osage Nations interest? Hmmm, sure makes one think don’t it? So without certainty, let’s just not confirm anyone in those very important positions, lets just do without for a bit. Who cares if the checks are signed?

Osage people…this is your wake up call to get rid of those members in congress who can’t seem to get past their personal differences’ with individual that wish to lead this Nation into a better future. It is time to retire those members of Congress in the next elections and get this Nation back on track to secure the future for your people.
