Ira “Trey” Hamilton Lookout age 36, of Pawnee, passed away Sunday, March 6 at Stillwater Medical Center. Ira was born September 20, 1974 in Ponca City to Ira Edward Lookout and Lela Mae (Gast) Palmer. He graduated in 1993 from Parkview School for the Blind in Muskogee. He had moved to Pawnee from Pawhuska about five months ago. He was self-employed as a musician and was a member of the Native American Church.
Ira is survived by his mother, Lela Palmer of Pawnee; his father, Ira Lookout of Pawhuska; a stepfather Norman D. New Rider; three siblings, Joycee Pearl New Rider of Tulsa; Christian Delores New Rider and Teri Nicole New Rider, both of Pawnee; a half sister Shelia Lookout of Hominy; a half brother Michael Lookout of Pawhuska; a step brother John Starr Bighorse; four nieces: Holly P. Beardsley, Heaven R. Beardsley, McKenzie R. Beardsley of Tulsa, Tacora N. New Rider and a nephew, Johnathan Joseph New Rider, both of Pawnee. Maternal grandmother Delores W. Dailey of Hominy and maternal grandfather John Joseph Gast of Topock, Ariz., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Ira was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Sophie Hamilton Lookout and Randolph Lookout Sr.; niece, Eden Paige White; cousin, Kenneth Wheeler III; uncle, James Edward Hamilton; aunts Connie and Becky Dailey; grandfather Louis B. Dailey Sr.; uncle Louis B. Dailey Jr. and great-great-grandfather Tom Bigchief.
