Also the graco duoglider stroller has a tray for keeping small items such as keys, phone, etc. Basket at the bottom of the graco double stroller is huge, as it goes along the length of the stroller. So you can keep here a lot of different things that you need during a walk.
Co-Chief? If you're gonna have that you might as well have a co-assistant Chief, and a co-congress--how about a co-minerals council? I say we ditch this entire new system and go back to works best for us as Osages, a Tribal Council. What was wrong with that, anyway?
Why not have co-Chiefs? It would be a perfect team, Red Eagle representing and preserving our past and Tall Chief leading us into the future. If they truly care about the Nation and its future then I would think both would step up to the plate and bring to the table their gifts & talents. They always say two heads are better than one; so imagine what can be accomplished and achieved with 2 co-Chiefs, an Asst Chief, Congress, and a MC. In a time of transition I can't think of a more positive route to take.
Ya I was about to say, there is a reason people get elected--it's because the majority voted for them--so why complain? They must be held accountable, though, so as Osage citizens it's our duty to make sure they do their jobs. After all, they are working FOR us, and they must never forget that.
How about we actually offer some solutions to the problem at hand?
If there is a problem with electing officials to the Nation who don't hold a college degree then lobby the new congress to amend the constitution so that we have some minimum educational requirements for ALL of our elected officials. Chief Redeagle isn't the only official recently elected who doesn't possess a college degree but all of our elected officials are charged with making decisions that affect all of the Osage people and a strong education would give us a stronger sense of security with the decisions that are being made.
If the issues is putting forth false information while campaigning or misleading the Osage public then lobby the members of the new congress to amend the election law so that in the future this type of thing has some consequences (whether or not it was intentional).
In the meantime Chief Redeagle was the choice of the majority of the Osages who voted. He holds an office that deserves the respect of our Nation and its citizens. Let's try to behave better as a people this time around. Many of our people have gotten into the bad habit of just hating whoever holds the position of chief and that needs to stop. Whether you voted for Chief Redeagle or not he is still our chief now.
Of course we should be diligent as citizens and communicate our needs, concerns, and questions to this administration. We should hold our elected officials to a higher standard of conduct. We should expect that good decisions are made to move our entire Nation forward and that laws be passed that affect the everyday lives of our citizens in a positive way. We don't have to agree with everything our elected officials do but can we at least respect the offices they hold and not lower ourselves to being guilty of hateful and petty behavior? I think our people are better than that and that we should expect more of ourselves. Perhaps when we do that some our elected officials will follow our example.
As citizens we also hold power in this new government so let's work within the system to make the changes we feel are necessary to improve our Nation. I think it is completely reasonable to expect a certain level of education for our elected officials whether it be members of congress, the minerals council or our chief. In order to make that happen laws are going to have to be amended to reflect our wishes.
I think that lying to all the people about your education and then skipping debates because you are scared to look a fool concens me....what will our new "great leader" do when called upon meeting with state or federal people???? Skip out because he is so "fearless" and "educated" from the University of Oklahoma??? New Day, perhaps you think you know all the vocabulary of the Osage people, but I think you are the one who needs the spelling lesson. Ask your educated elders the difference between the Osage words Wa-Zha-Zhi and Wa-Na-Zhe.
Time for this "new" era to take on the problems and legal conundrums that even Chief Gray, a diplomatic and well-spoken representative of our tribe, could not seem to overcome. Good Old Boy mentality will not suffice when the rubber hits the road and it's time to take proactive steps to return this tribe to the proud, successful example of innovation that it once was. Real-life experience and proven leadership when it really counts- OFF the safen haven of our little campus on the hill and amongst the Big Dogs in State and Federal government is what this tribe needs, not a man with a keen CDIB card and a questionable resume. Only time will tell if these men will lead us out of the darkness of the recent past and into the light of a new horizon; I pray that my fears will be put to rest by real results and accountability in the months and years to come. May God protect the small and weak, for that is what we are, putting our faith into such questionable hands.
Apology accepted New Day. Thanks. Good Stock was meant to be a figure of speech and not meant to be something else. I have a open mind to the concept of a New Leader and as I said before we shall see. And I to very much quided by our lord.
It is sad to see that people can post on this site without identifying themselves and speak so disrespectfully. I want to congratulate John Red Eagle and Scott Bighorse on their victory. My prayers are with them both because they have a lot to deal with but I believe God will give them the strength and wisdom they will need to do good things for the Osage people.
We should all celebrate our new Ki-he-kah John Red Eagle and Ki-he-kah O-wa-da Scott Bighorse as well as our new and old Congress men and women and old and new Minerals Council members. I am a shareholder and I feel confident in this new team as long as everyone works together without causing stalemates or indulging in in-fighting if personalities clash. May every Osage Nation citizen be supportive and offer their services whenever they see the need or are asked.
Respectfully
Mary Oklah
Being Old does not equal having wisdom, experience, and foresight. Lying about credentials is inexcusable, and judging a leader by the lines on his face rather than the lines on his resume is asinine. May God take pity and save this tribe.
I agree with Wildeagle. Thank God we can have a New Day and a New Beginning every day of our lives to change the things we want to change and to do things over, to right our wrongs and to make ammends. There will be another time for the other Candidates to take leadership if the majority puts them into office. I live Tim's ideas of entrepreneurship and doing something to make money besides the Casinos and that idea will take root at some point. A house divided cannot stand and we should all just learn to put aside our feelings and move forward as a Nation within a Nation excersizing our rights as a Sovereign Nation. We as Indian people have a wealth of opportunity it's all in our hands. We have to learn to have love and compassion for each other and also a good sense of humor never hurts anyone. Peace Be With All Of You.
Hummmm...........Well, I for one am extremely pleased with the out come. I think we have alot of work to do, first order of business is to realign some of what the last eight years has done. The preservation of our mineral estate and to protect our business enterprises and stop all the internal bickering. The votes are in, the votes have been tallied, the results posted, The majority has spoken. Maybe the next order of business for our congress is "pledge of allegiance" for our tribe. And a "let's gitter' done" attitude. And as for the unsuccessful candidates, they ran a darn good race, and there's always next time.
Sorry if my words offended you Monalisa they weren't meant to offend anyone, only to say that we should go ahead and give our new leadership a chance. Just because John Red Eagle comes from the old ways does not mean he will not be a good Chief. He is a good man and he knows God and Jesus personally. Every Nation needs a prayerful minded person to lead them.
However, I have to say that I take offense to the fact that you refer to your Indian Ancestry as coming from "good stock" we are not cattle or slaves. Chew on that statement for a while.
Facebook has nothing to do with new leadership within the Osage Nation or the Osage People. Sorry that you can't see the forest for the trees.
To be native American is to have a opinion based on facts and yes our history speeks in volumes but as with any group there is always going to be a few that disagree. Yes, it is a new day and we should envelope those hopes and dreams grounded in our history which makes us who we are today as a people. But logic speeks in by the barrels. Common sense tell us other wise. The instinct to question has always been our nature and way. Our old ways are who we are and course we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for our forefathers but once again that's not the point here. So I take to offence when you say New Day that you say that some of us our up rooted from our community traditions. Word is very potent to us Osages and when you say a lie to our face is like a slap with disgrace to the face. Anyone can be Chief and I expect a honest Chief. Bottom line. New Day you don't know me and I don't know you but I can't get anymore grouded to mother nature then I already am.
New Day should go back to Facebook where he belongs.
All Indian People live in this modern world, work and get an education. We have to in order to survive, but that never means we give up our old ways, our past is our future. It is who we are and without such rich traditions, language and culture you are nothing more than another American in the great melting pot. Not an Indian.
A sad day for the Osage people. To revert to the "old Indian ways" of Uncle Johnny means simply that nothing will be accomplished. Sad, sad, sad.
I think that Tim TallChief and Amanda Proctor would have also made a great team and brought about great change. But the fact that you people are dissing John Red Eagle in such a manner like he is an "Uncle Tom" proves you have lost your Indian and your Traditions because he is our elder. One of the first thing all Native American children learn from the first time they learn to walk is to have respect for their elders.
I believe that this is an exciting time for the Osage People. It is always good for any Nation to have new leadership with new ideas. Based on some of your comments I believe that you have lost the relationship of what it means to be Native American and Tribal and to belong to your own community. All Candidates were good. Education is not always all it's cracked up to be in a classroom, it is real life experiences, wisdom and diplomacy that also makes a good leader. Some of you seem to have trouble spelling, and one of you doesn't know that the Osage word for Osage is Wa-Zha-Zhi, not "Wa-Na-Zhe", therefore you should not be so hard on your new Chief. I think all of you have been away from your people way too long to make such divisive remarks epecially the one that called everyone living here Small Minded hometown lemmings, all of you might have great educations but you don't have an education of what makes and constitutes you as a Native American Indigenous to this Continent and having close ties to this Mother Earth. You don't even seem to have a feeling or an idea of what makes a person a Wa-Zha-Zhi, until you get that education I think you should reserve your harsh words for the New People on the floor. Further more, the absentee ballots out numbered the Rez Votes so it wasn't hometown people on their own who decided on their new leadership.
It is sickening!! I have been on-line hoping to find his campaign qualifications from 2006 when he ran for Asst. Chief to see if he stated he had an OU education then. He was claiming he had an OU education when he was on his campaign trail, but I guess he'll blame his writers for what he said too. I agree take this to the court, he should have been kicked off the ballot for his lies but until then I will certainly be watching everything he does.
I am shocked to say the least. Obviously something clearly went wrong. The experience that Tim and Amanda could have brought to our nation as a team could have done some great work for our Osage Nation. I like what eshabuh had to say. You reap what you sew as well. Amanda and Tim take this to our courts and fight. Based on the misprint about Red eagle could be grounds for a appeal. Based on misrepresentation. I feel that the nation deserves better qualified representation of and for our tribe all together. You have the background in law use it. This does not make any sense. This new team will be watched and closely by quite a few of us. I am a Osage headright owner/Tribal Member and come from good stock a long line of full blooded Osages. To run a agency of this caliber is going to take nothing more then excellence. Be strong my friends, my people. We shall see.
What a sad, sad day for the future of the Osage Nation. How embarrassing that a handful of hometown lemmings will prevail; by listening to the uninformed influence of a few with Big Mouths but Small Minds. Did any of you actually watch the debates, compare credentials, or research the histories of both candidates?? Good old "Uncle" will prove to the rest of the country and especially our own people that when you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always gotten.
Congratulations, you won the election, that's the bad news. The good news is you are no longer accountable only to your supporters but ALL Osage tribal members. Please know that as a concerned Osage headright owner / tribal member I am going to hold you accountable for everything you do and more importantly everything you don't say or do. I will be watching your actions (and your cohorts), listening to what you (and your cohorts)say and reading every word that your writers print. If you think everything is smooth sailing from here Mr. Red Eagle you are wrong!! I encourage ALL tribal members to keep Mr. Red Eagle honest and accountable. I wish you the best because by not doing so I'm wishing failure on the tribe but be forwarned should anything appear questionable and / or suspicious I will call you on it!!
Everyone note that this was a very close race, especially for APC. I would suggest no one take this as a mandate, but as a reason to form a coalition for the good of us all.
KJV. is not our way of life its ment for people like you! make it out they way you need it too be!! you must not be on the REZ and be a soldier for your people. I would bet a piece of frybred that you are a OSAGE TAG NDN!!!!
I hope Red Eagle will show up at events or meetings required by his office, unlike he did at the debates. No call, No show...means YOU'RE FIRED.
God is with us always....am not sowing bitter seads, but rather speaking the FACTS. Perhaps you should know more about your new Cheifs education and beliefs than what you claim to know from the Bible.
May God be with the Osage Nation, especially now with our new cheif and his "degree" from OU.
Congratulations to both winners.
It's "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7 KJV
And sowing bitter tirades after the election isn't going to reap anything tasty. Our future is in good hands.
The Osage people will get what they reap. The people who voted for Red Eagle must have the same "degree" from OU as their new cheif. This is why the Osage Nation will never reign supreme. I hope your Headrights will give you the greed you desire. I hope "UNCLE JOHNS'" "degree" sends this nation to a new level. Before you vote, perhaps you should get an education above the 6th garde and be able to read and understand the qualifications of a LEADER.
