The Osage Nation Foundation kicks off its first fundraising golf tournament on April 23 which will feature a silent auction with items ranging from college football tickets to signed professional athlete memorabilia.

The Foundation is also launching a raffle at the golf tournament, which will stretch through early summer. This fundraising effort will target interested parties who cannot make the tournament, which will be held at the Tulsa Country Club, 701 N. Union Ave.

According to a news release, there will be 10-15 items up for grabs in the silent auction event at the golf tournament in addition to sporting memorabilia signed by professional athletes. The silent auction will also feature a pair of tickets to the 2012 University of Oklahoma football game against the University of Texas.

“We added the silent auction and raffle to include those who do not golf but would like to support the foundation,” said Bill Webb, the ON Foundation Executive Director. “The raffle is also an incentive for those who can’t be physically present at the tournament to be able to support the foundation by purchasing tickets online until the raffle drawing.”

Webb said the Foundation plans to preview the raffle and silent auction items on the foundation’s Web site, www.osagefoundation.org.

The April 23 golf tournament will utilize a four-person scramble format and kick-off at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Registration opens at 10 a.m. with lunch served at 11 a.m. The silent auction will go throughout the day starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.

The Foundation will hold the one-day golf tournament at the Tulsa Country Club, which opened in 1908 and underwent recent renovations.

Sponsorships are available for those wishing to support the Foundation, ranging from $5,000 for the Golden Eagle sponsorship down to an individual playing spot for $95, which includes lunch. A full list of sponsorships, and online registration, are available at the Foundation’s Web site.

Deadline for registrations is April 18. For more information on the Foundation and the golf tournament, contact Bill Webb or Katy Laskey with the Foundation at (405) 415-0383 or email at info@osagefoundation.org.

Sitting on the five-member Foundation board are Chairman Alex Skibine, Monte Boulanger, Katsy Mullendore Whittenburg, Julie O’Keefe and Bill Kurtis.
