Joe Goodfox, a local Osage from Hominy, was selected to fill Hominy School Board seat No. 4.

The appointment was approved at a Hominy school board meeting on Sept. 7 for Goodfox to serve as a representative on the Hominy Board of Education. The motion passed unanimously, according to a release.

Goodfox is a 1990 Hominy High School graduate. He spent eight years in the Washington D.C. area where he became an HVAC journeyman, someone who specializes in Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning. Joe was raised in a family where the importance of education was always discussed, according to the release. His late father, Amos Goodfox, was a lifelong teacher and coach and worked for 11 years at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington D.C.

Joe resides in Hominy with his wife of 13 years, Osage Congresswoman Alice Goodfox and their five year old son Joseph Goodfox Jr., who attends Kindergarten at Hominy. Joe will officially run for seat No. 4 in February 2011 and if elected he will hold that position until 2014.
