Registration opens Aug. 13 for 4th Annual Cultural Walk

The Wah-Zha-Zhi Cultural Center is hosting its 4th Annual Cultural Walk: From Kansas to Home, a Cultural Experience Oct. 6-7.

Registration will be open from Aug. 13 through Sept. 14. Late registrations will not be accepted.

The walk is held on the Mullendore Cross Bell Ranch and includes activities such as Indian Dice, Hand Game, storytelling, Osage cooking and more.

On Oct. 6 participants will check in with WCC staff at 8 a.m. and sit through a safety orientation. Upon completion participants will be transported to the ranch and will walk to the campsite.

On the way to the campsite there will be small exhibits for walkers to learn about Osage history and the history of the walk. A light lunch will be provided for participants as well as a traditional Osage meal for supper.

Breakfast will be served in the morning before the walk begins. After breakfast, participants will break camp and take the symbolic walk from the campsite to the Mullendore family ranch where the Mullendore family will host a meal for participants. After the meal participants will be transported back to the Cultural Center on Sunday, Oct. 7.
