Osage tribal princess pageant to take place on March 20, 2010

David and Alycia Supernaw-Francis will be celebrating their 2nd Wedding Anniversary on Dec. 13. Their children are David Wood, Christine Wood, Kristoper Wood, Jennifer Smith and Dylan Francis. Their grandchildren are Hayden Wood, Jacob Wood, Kayleigh Wood, Jonathan Wood and Natalie Wood. Parents are John and Patricia Supernaw and David and Barbara Francis.

The family would like to say congrats to the couple.

Christine Wood will be graduating on Dec. 12 from OSU in Stillwater, Ok with a Bachelors in PsychologyChristine Wood will be graduating on Dec. 12 from OSU in Stillwater, Ok with a Bachelor in Psychology. Christine started her courses off at Haskell Indian Nations in 2004, and graduated there with an Associates in Liberal Arts in 2006. She is the first in our family to have such an honor and we are so proud of her.

John and Patricia Supernaw will celebrate their 46th Marriage Anniversary on Dec. 10. They were married in Pawhuska, Ok in 1963. The couple resides in Tulsa, Ok. John is the son of Lawrence (Ick) Supernaw and Opal Lord. Patricia is the daughter of Florena Berkley and Orville Gerhardt. The couple has two children: Michael Supernaw and Alycia Supernaw-Francis. They have five grandchildren: David Wood, Christine Wood, Kristopher Wood, Jennifer Smith and Julia Supernaw. They also have five great grandchildren: Hayden Wood, Jacob Wood, Kayleigh Wood, Jonathon Wood and Natalie Wood.

Proclamation follows November designation as National Native American Heritage Month.

On October 2, 1939 Ernest Lee Johnson and Kathleen Toohey were married in the Christian Church of Skiatook by Reverend Stanley Lecher.

They spent 38 years in California, during which time; they saw him in U.S. Navy-South Pacific as a Radioman.

He spent over 29 years as a maintenance carpenter for a Junior College.

Upon retirement they returned to Oklahoma and settled on his grandfather’s allotment.

He is the son of Ollie R. Javine and grandson of John Baptiste Javine.

Now they are moving on toward their 71st Anniversary.

The Osage Detachment No. 669 of the Marine Corps League has earned four national awards including one honor recognizing the group
