The deadline is less than a week away for Osages to submit their absentee ballot request forms into the Election Office for the June 4 General Election.
May 15 is the final day the Osage Nation Election Office will accept absentee ballot requests from Osages who do not plan on voting in-person on Election Day in Pawhuska.
So far, the Election Office reports its number of absentee ballot requests have exceeded the number requested in the 2010 General Election.
As of May 9, election officials have received 1,453 absentee ballot requests, which sets a new record from 2010’s absentee ballot request tally of 1,370.
Absentee voters are also required to submit a legible photocopy of a government-issued photo identification card with their absentee ballot request.
The absentee ballots will be mailed from the Maryland-based independent election firm hired by the ON Election Board to conduct this year’s election. TrueBallot Inc. will return to conduct the election at the Congressional chambers as it did in 2010.
