Absentee ballots for the General Election to be mailed out starting April 20

Osages who plan to cast absentee ballots in this summer’s election should check the mailbox for the ballots starting next week.

Friday April 20 marks the first day that absentee ballots will be mailed out to voters who have already requested them from the Osage Nation Election Office.

As of April 20, the election office reports it has received 1,232 request forms for absentee ballots for the General Election on June 4. That figure is less than 140 shy of 2010’s request count.

In that election year, 1,370 Osages requested absentee ballots from the Election Office.

The absentee ballots will be mailed from the Maryland-based independent election firm hired by the ON Election Board to conduct this year’s election. TrueBallot Inc. will return to conduct the election as it did in 2010.

The final deadline to request an absentee ballot from the Election Office for the June 4 election is May 15. For more information, visit the ON Election Office at www.osagetribe.com/electionboard
