Berbon Hamilton is the first Osage to file his candidacy for the Third Osage Nation Congress this morning (March 15). Hamilton, General Manager of Osage Innovative Solutions, LLC – a subsidiary of Osage LLC – was the 2011 recipient of the “40 under 40” award from the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) and is a member of the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as Whip Man for the Pawhuska In-Lon-Schka District. He is a graduate of Haskell Indian Nation's University and was a long-time employee of the Osage Nation before joining the Osage Innovative Solutions, LLC.
Hamilton is the first to officially file his candidacy with the Osage Election Office. Others who have announced they are running but have yet to file are Olivia "Libbi" Gray, Jim Ryan and Jenny Miller. Miller unsuccessfully ran in the 2010 General Election and placed 13th.
