An orange “Now Open” sign is posted to the side of the Pawhuska Osage Casino now open in new modular buildings.
The casino relocated its slot machines into the newer structure immediately south of the old building and opened to patrons on July 24. Osage Nation gaming officials purchased newer modular buildings to house the casino due to deteriorating conditions in the original one, which included the above-ground flooring.
The Pawhuska casino opened as part of the Nation’s former Osage Million Dollar Casino enterprise in 2003 in five modular buildings (also referred to as trailers) connected together. At the time of its closing, the older Pawhuska casino housed about 175 electronic slot machines.
The newer casino building – comprising seven modular buildings connected – will accommodate up to an additional 10 machines and a small food outlet.
ON Gaming Commission Director Elizabeth Hembree said the former casino structure will be demolished. The Pawhuska Osage Casino, located at U.S. 60 and 15th Street, is open Sunday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m.
