The Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) is accepting scholarship applications through Aug. 31 from current student members in good standing for 2017-2018 awards.
NAJA offers annual scholarship opportunities for high school, college and graduate students. Each year NAJA offers scholarships ranging from $500-$2,000 to Native American students pursuing journalism degrees at a higher learning institutions.
Winners will be announced during the 2017 NAJA Membership Luncheon at EIJ17 in Anaheim, Calif., on Friday, Sept. 8. Luncheon tickets are free to NAJA members and available for purchase for $50 to non-members. Early-bird registration for the conference is open through July 11.
Want to contribute to the education of student journalists? Make a monetary donation to NAJA's scholarship fund or donate an item for the 2017 NAJA Silent Auction on Sept. 9 at the National Native Media Awards banquet. Attendees can bid on Native art, jewelry and other items and all proceeds benefit student scholarships.
