The United Osages of Southern California is hosting its Fall 2021 virtual gathering on Saturday, Nov. 13 starting at 11 a.m.

UOSC Chairman Greg Clavier issued the “Save the Date” notice for the meeting and said a detailed meeting agenda will be announced closer to the Zoom meeting date. This is the second virtual UOSC meeting to be held since the COVID-19 pandemic started and prompted various interruptions to everyday life events including travel and social gatherings worldwide.

“A couple of weeks prior to the UOSC Zoom Meeting, a detailed email will be sent out with the complete agenda, login instructions and information links for novice Zoom users,” Clavier announced. “Since this will be our second time doing a Virtual Meeting, please bring your patience.”

As for 2022, Clavier has already set a date for the next in-person UOSC gathering in Carlsbad at the city’s Senior Center where the Osage fellowship and informational gatherings were held in recent years. “Since 2022 will be an Osage Nation Election year, the Spring 2022 gathering will focus on a Candidates Forum. The date is Saturday, April 23, 2022,” Clavier said in a previous announcement.

Hosted by the San Diego County-based organization, the UOSC has hosted in-person gatherings for decades for Osage attendees living on the West Coast or in neighboring states. The gatherings typically include presentations from ON officials visiting from Oklahoma, local California Osages or other invited Native American-affiliated organizations presenting information of interest to the attendees in addition to a lunch meal and raffle of donated gift and art items to help pay for supply costs.
