Dr. Pratt will be returning for a second lecture to discuss how traditional clothes are utilized as an expression of the Osage World View. The main focus will be on men's traditional clothes with an explanation of each traditional item.
Steven B. Pratt, (Ph. D., University of Oklahoma, 1985) is a professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Central Oklahoma. His research interests focus on cultural identification, as well as language and social interation, with an emphasis on identifying American Indian and Osage communicative behaviors. Dr. Pratt was born and raised on the Osage Indian reservation and serves as a traditional and ceremonial leader of the Osage people.
