Three grants will support artistic endeavors including a documentary about the Hominy Indians football team, Osage children’s book; Native American art exhibit in New York

The Osage Nation Foundation is awarding Arts Matching Grants to three arts-focused endeavors bringing the total number of awarded 2012 grants to four.

Approved for grant funding is a documentary film focusing on the Hominy Indians professional football team started by two Osages in the 1930’s; a children’s book highlighting Osage literature and way of life; and a Native American art exhibit which will be shown next year in New York.

Golf tournament to be held April 23 in Tulsa, Foundation will also launch raffle at tournament

The Osage Nation Foundation kicks off its first fundraising golf tournament on April 23 which will feature a silent auction with items ranging from college football tickets to signed professional athlete memorabilia.

The Foundation is also launching a raffle at the golf tournament, which will stretch through early summer. This fundraising effort will target interested parties who cannot make the tournament, which will be held at the Tulsa Country Club, 701 N. Union Ave.

Foundation seeking Osage applicants for intern position, to establish office operations in Tulsa area

The Osage Nation’s Foundation Board is establishing its office operations after the Second ON Congress passed an initial budget for the board in June.

In early August, the board hired an executive director who will be charged with establishing office operations for the board, which is the charitable arm for the Nation.
