Dresdyn Hinman was recently selected as Buck Queen at Hominy High School

To say that Dresdyn Hinman had a good time in New York City during Thanksgiving is an understatement.

The 17-year-old Osage performed in the 86th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade along with approximately 600 other all-star cheerleaders and dancers from across the country. But, at the end of the day, the one thing she still remembers from that experience was that her feet hurt.

Dresdyn Hinman can’t wait for Nov. 15. That is the day she will board a plane for New York City to cheer in the 86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“I’m really excited,” she said. “I’m happy and I think it’s cool I’ve been picked for this honor and I can finally go my senior year.”

By “finally” she means that she has been eligible to perform in the parade for the past two years, but this year she finally gets to go.

The Hominy cheerleaders are Class 2A State Champions

Great football players may be born in Oklahoma but talented cheerleaders occupy the small town of Hominy.

Coach Dobbins’ legacy lives on in grandson who is a junior for the Hominy Bucks

When the purple and white pride seeps into the fall Hominy air at Buck Memorial Field, a handful of football diehards can almost see Curtis Pratt Dobbins make his way out of the home locker room.

Some who know him as “Mr. Hominy Buck” noticed him by his robust football build, others by the stern sketch upon his face.

And some, like Scott Lohah, who played under Dobbins in the 1960s, know it’s him by the chills that pulse through this body.
