ON Election Board certifies 2012 General Election results

This year’s election turnout less than 2010’s election by approximately 500 voters

The 2012 General Election results are certified with four first-time Osage Nation Congressional members and two re-elected incumbents to serve on the Third ON Congress.

The ON Election Board unanimously certified the results of the June 4 election during its June 8 meeting. The board did not receive any public challenges of the results and did not count provisional ballots toward the unofficial results, so those numbers will stand.

My name is John Jech and I am a candidate for the Osage Nation Congress.  I am the grandson of Charles and Nancy Big Elk.  My great-grandparents were Charles Big Elk (Allottee #705) and Cora Pitts Lohah Big Elk (Allottee #706).  I was born, raised and reside in Pawhuska with my wife Melissa and our daughters Cortlynn and Brecklynn.

RJ Walker announces his candidacy for the Third Osage Nation Congress

"I believe our children and grandchildren deserve meaningful opportunities in the arts, sciences, and trades that, if available, would help them explore their strengths."

I am pleased  to announce my candidacy for the Osage Nation Congress.  Over the last decade I have served as Director of the Osage Nation Roads Department and seen the potential of our Nation to overcome our differences.  Also, while serving on boards in the community, I have seen the potential for our Nation to work with the city, county and state.  This type of cooperation produces results that benefit all Osages, especially our elders and children.

Candy’s career has been entirely in the public sector, first as an employee and for the last 18 years as an independent consultant to cities, counties, non-profits, state and federal governments

Candy Thomas was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  After graduating from Edison High School, she received a B.S. in Sociology, with a minor in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. Candy resides in Pawhuska along with her immediate family, Steve and Nila Thomas, Joe Thomas, Tyler, Hannah and Cooper Thomas.
