Our leadership must mend differences and work in concerted efforts to establish laws derived from strategic planning and necessary to expound the provisions of the Osage Nation Constitution. Our government should strive to meet the needs of Employment, Education, Health, Social Services, Preservation of our Culture, and our Mineral Estate.

My name is John Jech and I am a candidate for the Osage Nation Congress.  I am the grandson of Charles and Nancy Big Elk.  My great-grandparents were Charles Big Elk (Allottee #705) and Cora Pitts Lohah Big Elk (Allottee #706).  I was born, raised and reside in Pawhuska with my wife Melissa and our daughters Cortlynn and Brecklynn.

I am pleased  to announce my candidacy for the Osage Nation Congress.  Over the last decade I have served as Director of the Osage Nation Roads Department and seen the potential of our Nation to overcome our differences.  Also, while serving on boards in the community, I have seen the potential for our Nation to work with the city, county and state.  This type of cooperation produces results that benefit all Osages, especially our elders and children.

Candy Thomas was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  After graduating from Edison High School, she received a B.S. in Sociology, with a minor in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. Candy resides in Pawhuska along with her immediate family, Steve and Nila Thomas, Joe Thomas, Tyler, Hannah and Cooper Thomas.
