Golf tournament to be held April 29 at the Tulsa Country Club

The Osage Nation Foundation will be hosting their 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament on April 29 in Tulsa.

“We had a great turn out last year but ideally we want to have the golf tournament be one of our annual events,” said Osage Foundation Executive Director, Bill Webb.

All proceeds to benefit Foundation summer youth camps

Tickets are still available for the inaugural Osage Nation Foundation Osage Christmas Celebration, Saturday, Dec. 15.

Held at the Osage Casino’s Osage Event Center in Tulsa, the celebration will feature Ojibwe country music star Crystal Shawanda, as well as a silent auction, cash bar and a buffet dinner. The adults-only event is from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The Foundation is providing transportation for those that live in Fairfax, Hominy and Pawhuska. Those interested in transportation must contact the Foundation office.

The Osage Nation Foundation is launching its inaugural Christmas party with the celebration scheduled Dec. 15 at the Osage Event Center at the Tulsa Osage Casino.

Three grants will support artistic endeavors including a documentary about the Hominy Indians football team, Osage children’s book; Native American art exhibit in New York

The Osage Nation Foundation is awarding Arts Matching Grants to three arts-focused endeavors bringing the total number of awarded 2012 grants to four.

Approved for grant funding is a documentary film focusing on the Hominy Indians professional football team started by two Osages in the 1930’s; a children’s book highlighting Osage literature and way of life; and a Native American art exhibit which will be shown next year in New York.

The Osage Nation Foundation made it possible for local youth to unleash their creative side this summer through a photography camp hosted in Pawhuska.

The camp, held July 30-Aug. 3 at the Osage Nation Boys and Girls Club, was the last in a series of free camps offered this summer.

“I was real happy to see that the Osage Nation Foundation offered an art option on top of the sport since not all kids like sports,” said Sherry Stinson, photography camp instructor.

OU standout Scott Hill coached first ON Foundation football camp hosted in Fairfax

Fourteen youth endured the triple digit heat for a five-day football camp in Fairfax, led by former University of Oklahoma standout Scott Hill July 9-13.  

The camp is part of the Osage Nation Foundation’s summer youth camps and was held at Woodland High School’s practice football field.

“The foundation’s mission is to do everything they can to benefit the young people and various communities within the Osage Nation,” Hill said.

The Osage Nation Foundation hosted a football camp in Fairfax, Okla., from Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13. The camp had 14 participants and was led by former University of Oklahoma standout Scott Hill. The football camp is part of the ON Foundation's youth summer camps.

A week-long basketball camp in Pawhuska is the first camp offered to Osage youth this summer. Other camps offered include football, golf and photography.

The Osage Nation Foundation kicked off their youth summer camps with a five-day basketball camp.

The camp was held on Monday, June 18 through Friday, June 22 at the Osage Nation Boys & Girls Club in Pawhuska.

The foundation held two sessions each day, a session in the morning for grades 3rd through 6th and a session in the afternoon for grades 7th through 9th. The foundation also provided transportation for participants who lived in Hominy and Fairfax.

On Monday, April 23, the Osage Nation Foundation held its First Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.

The foundation was expecting 100 golfers but ended up having more than 130 golfers show up for the event. The day started off with a breakfast followed by a game of golf and then a silent auction.

The money from the tournament will help fund the foundation's summer programs that will be held across Osage County.

Golf tournament to be held April 23 in Tulsa, Foundation will also launch raffle at tournament

The Osage Nation Foundation kicks off its first fundraising golf tournament on April 23 which will feature a silent auction with items ranging from college football tickets to signed professional athlete memorabilia.

The Foundation is also launching a raffle at the golf tournament, which will stretch through early summer. This fundraising effort will target interested parties who cannot make the tournament, which will be held at the Tulsa Country Club, 701 N. Union Ave.

Julie O’keefe owns The Grayhorse Group, fills fifth vacant spot on board

Osage Nation Principal Chief John Red Eagle has appointed an Osage entrepreneur to the final vacant seat on the ON Foundation Board which is the nonprofit charity arm of the Nation.

Julie O’keefe will serve as interim Foundation Board member, a position subject to ON Congressional confirmation during the forthcoming 2012 Hun-Kah Session. She was sworn as a board member by Trial Court Judge Marvin Stepson on Feb. 16.

Foundation will host fundraiser event April 23 in Tulsa; Foundation Board approves its first strategic plan

The Osage Nation Foundation is kicking off 2012 with its own Web site and plans to hold its first-ever fundraising event this April – a golf tournament in Tulsa.

The Nation’s nonprofit charitable fundraising arm will host the “Osage Foundation Charity Golf Tournament” at the Tulsa Country Club, 701 N. Union Ave, on April 23.
