Diane was born on July 23, 1940 in Pawhuska, Okla. to Christopher Julius Pahsetopah and Lillian Lorraine (Hamilton) Pahsetopah. She passed away on May 23 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. at the age of 70.

She was preceded in death by her parents Chris and Lorraine Pahsetopah, her brother Paul Christopher Pahsetopah and two of her six children Paul Kenneth Simmering Jr. (Sonny) and Gwendolyn Christine Simmering (Tina).

The daughter of famed Osage author John Joseph Mathews dies at 86

BELLEVILLE- Virginia Winslow Hopper Mathews, 86, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, passed away at 1:35 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011.

Virginia was born on March 9, 1925, in New York City, N.Y., to the late John Joseph Mathews and Virginia Winslow (Hopper) Mathews.

She was preceded in death by her lifetime companion, Virginia Huie.

Virginia is survived by a brother, John H. Mathews, & wife Gail, of Allensville, three nieces, Sara Dydak, Laura Edwards and Chris Mathews, as well as 13 great-nieces and nephews.

Corey was born on September 18, 1985 in Shreveport, La. He passed away on March 11, 2011 in Shreveport as the result of a tragic accident

Services for Corey Wayne Owen, 25, were held March 17, 2011 at Mansfield Road Baptist Church. Officiating was Terry Hearn of Keithville, La.

A gathering will be held following the memorial service for family and friends.

Corey was born on September 18, 1985 in Shreveport, La. He passed away on March 11, 2011 in Shreveport as the result of a tragic accident.

Rachel was instrumental in seeing that her sons and grandsons participated in the Native American Church and the Osage Tribes annual ceremonial dances

Rachel was born in Shawnee to Raymond A. Kennard and Phyllis Campbell Kennard. She attended elementary school in Edmond. Her father worked for Amerada-Hess Oil Company. The family was transferred to Paradis, Louisiana where Rachel finished elementary school. In 1944 the family was again transferred, this time to Los Angeles, Calif. Rachel attended Audubon Junior High and finished at Inglewood High School class of 1949. Rachel received a full scholarship to Pepperdine University but opted to attend UCLA. During this time Rachel was an Honored Queen for Jobs Daughters.

Ira “Trey” Hamilton Lookout age 36, of Pawnee, passed away Sunday, March 6 at Stillwater Medical Center

Ira “Trey” Hamilton Lookout age 36, of Pawnee, passed away Sunday, March 6 at Stillwater Medical Center. Ira was born September 20, 1974 in Ponca City to Ira Edward Lookout and Lela Mae (Gast) Palmer. He graduated in 1993 from Parkview School for the Blind in Muskogee. He had moved to Pawnee from Pawhuska about five months ago. He was self-employed as a musician and was a member of the Native American Church.

Milton Vann Labadie Jr. passed away Monday, March 20, 2011 at his home near Pawhuska, OK, at the age of 55.

Vann was born September 18, 1955 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany while his parents were stationed there. He was raised in Wynona and Pawhuska. He graduated from Pawhuska High School as a member of the class of '73. Vann played football and basketball, and was active in numerous student activities.

ROBERT SYLVESTER BIGHORSE passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at his home in American Canyon, Calif. He was 78 years old.

Mr. Bighorse was born November 7, 1932 in Bigheart Township, Oklahoma, the son of George and Frances Margaret (Davis) Bighorse. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired plumbing supply warehouse foreman. 

Surviving are: A sister: Laura Johnson of American Canyon; Two brothers: Frank Bighorse of Locust Grove; Charles Bighorse of Wagoner; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Donald Browne Tinker, 70, of rural Comanche passed away Monday evening, Feb. 21, at his residence north of town. A memorial service was held Thursday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, and Bro. Dow Pannell officiated.

Donald was born May 11, 1990 in Phoenix, Ariz., to James LeRoy and Florence Isabelle (Browne) Tinker. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On March 16, 1973 he and Rebecca Lee Pate were married at Plainview, Tex. They had made their home in this community since 2002, coming from Irving, Tex.

Mark Kenneth Keltner resident of Ponca City, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kans. He was 60.

Mark Kenneth Keltner resident of Ponca City, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kans. He was 60.

There were no services. The cremation was under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mark was born on April 22, 1950 to Charles Keltner and Marilyn (Hadden) Keltner in Ponca City. He was raised in Ponca City where he graduated from POHI in 1968. Mark served in the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, Calif.

Raven Hubert Fallin was born March 1, 1935 in Hot Springs, Ark., to Hubert Fallin and Goldie Etta Fallin. Raven passed on Feb. 14 in Sacramento, Calif.

Raven is survived by his long time companion Mary Jo Myers and two brothers Jamie Paovah Fallin and Olan Hyatt Fallin. His children are Owen, Patty Ann and Raven Jr.

Raven was a heavy equipment operator. For most of his life he leveled land in northern California for Hennagin Land Leveling Inc.
