Over 100 land tract leases sold to highest energy company bidders; One 18-month lease sold for a record $100,000

TULSA, Okla. – A bonus of approximately $1.7 million was raised at the oil and gas lease sales auction held during the annual Osage Oil and Gas Summit on Nov. 9.

The $1.7 million figure is nearly double the $864,940 raised during the 2010 auction. This year’s auction is the 13th one for the tribe attended by representatives from various oil and gas company representatives at Tulsa’s Hyatt Regency hotel. The Osage Minerals Council and Bureau of Indian Affairs oversaw the auction, which featured 160-acre tracts of land available for oil and/or gas mining.

Relations between OMC and Chief’s Office becoming strained after recent draft of MOU from the chief

The Osage Minerals Council might not be sending $50,000 to the plaintiffs in the Jech vs. United States case after all.

The case was recently recommended by a federal judge to be dismissed and at the March 10 OMC meeting it was revealed that the OMC never sent the money they promised to the plaintiffs in the case, which had some Osage shareholders upset.

TULSA, Okla. – More than $860,000 was raised during the oil and gas lease sales auction Oct. 27 at the 10th Annual Osage Oil and Gas Summit and Prospect Expo.

Wednesday’s sale is the highest lease sale the Osage Mineral’s Council has had in four years.
