Third Special Session set for Dec. 3; Congress to consider appropriation for the LLC

Two certified accountants are now serving on the Osage Limited Liability Company (LLC) Board after the Third Osage Nation Congress confirmed both men on Sept. 10 for three-year terms.

Jim Parris (Osage) and David Stewart appeared before the Congressional body for confirmation interviews before the votes that day. Both men have certified accounting credentials and bring years of professional finance experience to the LLC board which launched in 2009.

Charles Maker and Howard “Skip” Iba ask to be withdrawn from reconfirmation by the ON Congress; Chief Red Eagle to appoint two new board members

Two seats on the Osage Limited Liability Company’s Board of Directors are vacant after Charles Maker and Howard “Skip” Iba stepped down from the board.

Maker and Iba, who were first appointed and confirmed for three-year LLC board terms in 2009, were up for reconfirmation during this year’s Hun-Kah Session, which ends Thursday April 19.

Executive Branch requests $13M in appropriation bills during Hun-Kah Session; Nation will exceed mandated spending limit if all bills pass

The Osage Nation government is on the verge of hitting its spending ceiling of tribal funding for the 2012 fiscal year. As a result, the Second Osage Nation Congress has put all appropriation bills requesting tribal funding for department services and projects on hold pending further input from incoming ON Treasurer Callie Catcher.
